Cattle colony is not a new thing in Nigeria. It has existed long before independence and it is called Zango. Zango has existed in many areas of Yoruba land. Till today, there is Sango Otta, the home country of our former president. Sango is a corruption of Zango.
  There is Zangon Kataf in Zonkwa, Kaduna State. When the Fulani's came there, they did not tell the natives that they were coming to settle. They just asked for a small land by the market as shed to sell cattle. This was granted them.
  The Fulani's soon gained entrance into Kafanchan town and before long, they turbanned one of themselves and addressed him, Emir of Jemaa. Jemaa in Hausa means, ALL. When the natives raised eye brow, they said the empire was going to be their own king, not the Kafanchan people.
  During the military, the Southern Kaduna people got a local government with the name, Jemaa Local Government. Later, Zonkwa got a separate local government and the local government was named Zangon Kataf Local Government.
  The emir of Jemaa got a first class stool and the entire Southern Kaduna became tribute paying enclave of the Zazzau emirate. The cunning jihad became a success. The Southern Kaduna people were banned from buying or selling commodities in Zangon Kataf local government save for what the Fulani's permitted.
  In the process, burukutu and pork meat were outlawed. The protest to regain the market from the Fulani became the greatest Zangon Kataf crises that consumed many southern Kaduna lives leading to the arrest and unlawful imprisonment of the most prominent Kataf son, General Zamani Lekwot and many other Christian leaders.
  The people of Ilorin cannot tell their story as Kwara State without their Fulani emir in a Yoruba speaking state. So is the emir ilof Muri in Jalingo who was deposed leading to the forceful and untimely retirement as well as removal from office as governor of Col. Yohanna Madaki.
  The Fulani's have history of claiming wherever they had Zango as their own territory and from there begin expansion by bringing more Fulani's from Niger, Chad and Senegal. The sole aim is to drive away all other tribes from Nigeria or waste their lives and take over the land.
  When NTA broadcasted for several weeks that one Alhaji Maikudi founded Makurdi, they are most probably talking of a Zango by River Benue. Anywhere they stayed, the first Fulani to enter the town is the founder of that Zango and wherever they had Zango, they will host a Fodio flag for occupation.
  Those states opening up colonies or new Zangos for Fulani do not know what they are doing 
because in no time, they will get an emir and Fulani will claim the whole state as their own.
  For so long as Nigeria permit voting Fulani to be their president, federal monetary allocations will be made to buy more arms for Fulani to come from Agades and other desert places in Africa to come and live in their new colonies and begin fresh ethnic cleansing.

THE CARDINAL SINS OF GOWON

THE THREE CARDINAL SINS OF GEN. GOWON AND WHY HE IS SILENT OVER FULANI HERDSMEN by Onyema Uche

Gen. Yakubu Gowon in 1967 thought he could invade Enugu, arrest Ojukwu and place him on trial. A mission he could not accomplish in 3 three years.

As soon as Gowon realized that Gen. Ojukwu and his boys were not smiling or easy to conquer, Gowon committed 3 crimes against Nigerians just to win the war. These are the sins of Gowon that are affecting Nigerians today.

1. THE GODOGODO

Gowon and his supreme military council thought it would be easy to walk over Biafra and capture Ojukwu so they decided to launch attack on Enugu to capture Ojukwu. That attempt met with stiff resistance from unarmed youths to the surprise of Gowon and his army.

Mauritala, that beast and a bigot in his zealousness made 2 attempts to take over Onitsha but was successfully stopped by Ojukwu soldiers. This frustration led to a quick fix that would lead to the worst pact with the devil himself.

In other to aid the federal army, Mauritala Mohammed convinced Gowon to bring the foreign militias called the godogodo people to fight Biafra. Those who lived or witnessed and or fought in the civil war are not strange to the atrocities of these people.

They were heartless militias paid to kill and praised for their ruthlessness. Although the Godogodo people were not trained professional regular soldiers, their duty was to do the military’s dirty job.

Massacre civilians, rape and slaughter the already conquered people with hatchet, axe and other dangerous instruments. They are also experts in torture. Anywhere the federal troop’s conquered, they will bring the godogodo people to finish off the civilians.

So in some instances the civilians were warned to flee the cities before the godogodo people would arrive. These Godogodo people were not repatriated after the civil war. Most of them settled in northern Nigeria. The government lost control of them.

It is the same Godogodo militias that constitute today’s Fulani herdsmen terrorist group. Those in the east who witnessed the war will testify about the Godogodo people named after a village in Kaduna of today.

So The Fulani herdsmen are the offshoot or the continuation of the Godogodo people Gowon brought to Nigeria to kill Biafrans. Today they have become the errant virus that eats what it was supposed to protect.

2. Months into the war, Gowon saw that Biafra could not be conquered unless Port Harcourt fell into federal hands, so he went into pact with the president of Cameron. In the pact, Gowon pledged Bakassi peninsula in exchange if Cameron allowed Nigeria to use its sea route to get to Port Harcourt.

We are all aware of how many innocent people that died since the war ended because of this pact. Today the entire people of Bakassi are displaced and no one is talking about them.

3. THE GRAZING ROUTE.

When Gowon and his military found out that Biafra is not a pushover, he entered into another contract. This time he went to Niger for the help of the Arabs in Africa. In other for Chad and Niger to give the federal government the help they sought, Niger and its allies, Benin republic and Chad Fulanis stated their conditions.

That condition was to grant to the Fulani nomads a grazing route from Niger to the Eastern Nigeria. Again Gowon without brains accepted this demand and signed off the arable land of Nigeria to the Fulanis for grazing.

Now if you have been listening or reading what the leaders of Miyatti Allah have been saying you would notice one constant claim. They insist that there is international document that granted them grazing route from Niger to Eastern Nigeria.

Of all those banning the open grazing, no one has challenged this claim. Did such document exist? Who are the signatories? Was it rectified after the war in which Gown and the supreme military council was in charge for 6 years after the war?

Now we can see why those who fought the civil war and looted Nigeria thereafter are criminally silent over this predicament. The Fulanis claim that Allah gave them our ancestral land to graze. It is clear who the Allah is… Gen. Yakubu Gowon is the Allah that gave our land to the Fulanis.

The fact staring us in the face now is that the federal government cannot and will not protect us. Unless we resist this as one robbed people these vampires will suck us dry.

They are brutes and experts in fiendish diplomacy, so dialoguing with them or making any pact with them is a waste of time. They understand one language, violence, brute force, like the vampires if you do not overwhelm them with brute force they will never stop coming.

Arise people of Nigeria and resist this slavery Gowon signed us into. As for those who felt they defeated Biafra, how far?

As for those clamouring for true federalism or restructuring, none will solve this problem. The only solution is to kill Nigeria. Total disintegration will resolve this nonsense as each nation will make its own laws and protect its territorial integrity.

EXPECT MORE BLOODSHED...They threaten

Expect more bloodshed in Benue if the Anti-grazing law is not completely scrapped- Miyetti Allah leader warns Benue State Govt.

Barely 48 hours after the mass burial of 73 victims of the recent herdsmen attacks in Benue, the National Vice President of Miyetti Allah Cattle Herders Association, Husaini Yusuf Bosso, has warned that more blood will be shed in the state if the anti-grazing law introduced by Governor Samuel Ortom is not completely scrapped.

According to him, the herders have been sorting out their issues with farmers in the state before the Ortom government enacted the anti-grazing law without consulting stakeholders.

“We, the association wrote a letter to him, even met him. We told him that this law cannot work. We told them that there is an international cattle route from Niger to Eastern Nigeria. He said he will not allow cattle to pass through Benue state even if it is the cattle route. We told him that if he wants to implement that law, he must provide a land for us to rent. He did not provide any land for cattle herders. They have been in that state even before colonial days and co-existing peacefully. We advised him and he refused to listen to us. We are not against that law but he has to provide a land for these people before implementing such a law. If there is no land, there is a problem.”

He accused the land guards hired by the state government of terrorizing the herdsmen in the name of implementing the law. “The land guards that he introduced who we all know as the civilian Joint Task Force, they are inflicting pain on the Fulani herdsmen. They attack and seize their animals. They drag them to the nearest police station where huge amount of money is collected before they are granted bail. This is the cause of this problem. If you attack a cattle herder and collect his cattle, he has no choice but to attack.

“The law is saying that herdsmen should not pass through the state even if it’s a route to another area. In the past , if there was damage by the cattle , we had ways to settle the matter. When you damage a farm, you have to beg the owner , if they refuse, you pay for the damages. This has worked for us for years till Benue State decided to implement the anti-grazing law. We have challenged the law in court and till court decides which way forward, Governor Ortom will be held responsible for any further bloodshed. ”

He further alleged that the group as a major stakeholder was not consulted when the law was being debated. “

DEMAND FOR PIGGERY COLONIES

The National Association of Piggery Farmers deplore the marginalization of the association by the Federal Government. Our pigs have been variously targeted for elimination in several Northern states. Those Sharia compliant states have refused to allow our legitimate business to thrive. Our members have been hounded and harassed by the Hisbah Police and others. We deplore this. 

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture has paid deaf ears to out plight. Our members demand that the marginalization must stop in order to forestall the breakdown of Law & Order.

From the foregoing, NAPF thus demand the following:
1. Equal opportunities for all farmers and herders throughout the federation
2. We demand for a 20 hectare Piggery Colony in the 19 Northern States especially Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe, Bauchi, Niger, Borno and Gombe
3. We demand the National Assembly to pass a law on Piggery Colonies in all Northern states
4. We demand that a section of the Nigerian Army be employed in the protection of pigs and pig farmers
5. We demand the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to set aside a budget for the importation of Pig Feed from Argentina
6. We demand a special department of Piggery in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Dear Mr. President, we are a law abiding association. We prevent our members from being provoked by the government-backed Hisbah/Islamic horde that aim to destroy our pig farmers. We shall not be involved in attacking and killing the anti-piggery people in the Sharia States. If these things are not done, we can no longer guarantee that our members would not deliberately target our transducers!

BOYCOTT THE FULANI (BLOOD) BEEF

Please join the campaign to boycott beef. 
In one research, Lagos State Government revealed that over 6000 heads of Cattle are slaughtered in Lagos daily. That is over 180,000 heads of Cattle per month and about 2.2 million in Lagos State alone.

Analytical reasoning has never been known to be a forte of the African man and has been a major source of setbacks for us.
The white folks have devised a way to tame greedy and powerful people by hurting their economies. They simply boycott their products and it hurts.

Why is it so difficult to ask people to refrain from eating beef secured with human blood for now?!
I have a friend, who is very comfortable by every standard and have personally implemented this in his own household for over a yeae now as his own personal sacrifice.
Blood is being shed to secure cows that they will sell for your consumption.  Invariably, you are contributing to the bloodshed.

Ranting and sharing gory pictures on the Internet is not enough.  Make a conscious decision not to be a part of the bloodshed by not using your money to aid the  killing of our brothers and sisters all over the country so that cows may live.

Eat fish, chicken, goat meat, if your religion permits, eat pork or go veggie! They are a lot healthier!

Imagine what a total boycott will do to their economy if the whole of South and Middlebelt can tap into this.  If Lagos alone kills 180,000 a month? They hardly eat the meat themselves, we do! We consume the blood of Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Ogun, Enugu etc people. Yes we do.

Just make the sacrifice and make a conscious effort to boycott. Let's see whether it will work or not.

Even scientific experiments are tried first.

THE FULANI TERRITORIAL CONQUESTS

The story is told of how King Yunfa, the Hausa Sarki in Gobir (now called Sokoto) hosted a Fulani immigrant called Usman Dan Fodiyo and his group in February 1804, as a result of this and since 1808 the whole of the northern region lost its kingdoms and were replaced by Fulani emirates.

King Yunfa is said to have been killed in 1808 and the Fulani warrior (Usman Dan Fodiyo) established Sokoto caliphate, making himself Sultan.

Gradually, other Hausa kingdoms were pillaged and taken over by the Fulani emirs. The ethnic groups in the core north were the first victims of Fulani imperialism, a venture that occurred because the people were given access to grazing land as a result of the hospitality of the hosts.

They however failed to overrun the Bornu and Jukun kingdoms  , so the Shehu of Bornu and Aku Uka  remains paramount till  today!

The Afonja dynasty compromised by allowing a Fulani warrior known as Janta Alimi to settle in Ilorin, the Fulani guerrillas killed Afonja in 1824

And Ilorin, a Yoruba town under the Oyo empire, fell into Fulani hands, becoming an emirate under Sokoto caliphate till today! Even the attempts of the O'odua People's Congress (OPC) to revert to status quo ante and crown an Onilorin of Ilorin became an exercise in futility.

The Yoruba warriors got wise and defeated the Fulani jihadists in Osogbo in 1840, if this didn't happen there would most likely have been Fulani "emirs"  as rulers in Oyo Alaafin, Ibadan, Owo, Osogbo, Ede, Ado, and Igede Ekiti today!

If the Bini Kingdom did not fight and repel the jihadists, they would have penetrated the Edo/Delta region beyond the present day Edo North Senatorial District which gave in and allowed the jihadists to overrun & islamize them.

Along with some ignorant folk most of them are now angling for grazing areas and a corridor through the entire federation. These grazing areas will in future become Fulani settlements, later communities and finally local government areas with elected officials.
If you think I am being alarmist look towards the once beautiful and serene Middle Belt state of Plateau.

The exact same thing happened in Jos.

Therefore, it will not be farfetched to conclude that the Fulani herdsmen are pawns in an agenda to overrun all towns in Nigeria! So that we will have emirs in Owerri, Enugu, Benin, Agatu,Wukari, Abeokuta and other towns where FG creates "grazing reserves" for Fulani herdsmen!

If Yunfa didn't accommodate Fodio and his warlike immigrants from Futatoro, Hausa sarkis would be ruling today in the north!

And if Afonja didn't conspire with Alimi, a Yoruba kingdom would not have been ruled by Alimi's offspring till today!

It is a subtle continuation of the 1804 Fulani jihad by the fully-armed and protected Fulani herdsmen with an age-old agenda to overrun and Islamize the whole of Nigeria very quickly.

I will end this with what someone rightly said- "The grazing bill is not an attempt to solve the problem, it's a subterfuge to progress the agenda"

It's an age-old political strategy really- ..create a problem, come up with a "solution" that advances the cause, and then give it a legal backing.
Make it look like a win-win situation.

Tinubu did two brilliant things in the APC campaign to overthrow PDP. First he painted Buhari as a reformed Angel, as a Messiah bringing change. Anybody who really knew Buhari knew that this was false. But the most brilliant thing about Tinubu propaganda was that he painted Jonathan as evil. They defined GEJ as immeasurably clueless and totally corrupt. This too was false.

So their hordes not only voted for Buhari as the Messiah, but actively voted against Jonathan as the devil incarnate, the harbinger of all things corrupt.
People often underrate propaganda. They think of it as a set of untruths that can be blasted away by simple truths. But propaganda can turn the purest untruths into hardened reality, constructing imaginary world's with its own logic as hard and logical as the real world.

Pick a lie. Repeat it continuously and people come to believe it as truth and incorporate it into their mental world's as hardened truths. It was a method developed by the nazis and deployed to devastating effect in the mass murders of the Jewish holocaust. And that was how the hordes of APC and fellow Nigerians constructed the lies of Tinubu's media machines into their mental worlds as hardened irrevocable truths.
Slowly, as the Buhari disaster unfolded they blamed it on GEJ the devil. Eventually, Buhari 's blunders became so glaring that the excuses have worn thin and more of their followers are now openly regretting ever voting Buhari.

For many of the Hausa Fulani and Northern muslim followers, for whom change meant an Islamic revolution, they still see Buhari as the Mahdi, the Messiah, and are enamoured of his glaring actions to advance an Islamic agenda and Northern dominance. They love it. The economic and social collapse mean nothing to them as Islam comes first, and anything can be sacrificed for it.

For the Yoruba and other southern followers who wanted true social and economic change, and were thoroughly decieved into believing that was what was on offer, a certain cognitive dissonance has set in, in which what they are seeing is in severe discordance with what they expected. They have tried very hard to reconcile and justify the obnoxious actions of Buhari, till they have now become mentally and emotionally exhausted.
For many it is difficult for them to believe that they wanted the best for their country, but have inflicted the worst upon it. Many have realised they made a grievous mistake and have gone silent. Some realise they have been grossly deceived and have come out blazing in anger. Still others are looking for justifications, too embarrassed to admit their terrible error.
But one strand of thought is still keeping them sane - and that was where Tinubu was at his brilliant best - the conviction that Jonathan was so corrupt and clueless he just had to be changed. You would hear them say, but I don't regret removing Jonathan. He was so corrupt. This is now the only justification that the Southerners, especially the Yoruba, are holding on to.
But this must be stripped of them too. The so-called wailing wailers have concentrated on proving the absurdity of a Buhari presidency, and have done so most successfully. But the ex-Buharists are still clinging to the illusion that Jonathan was terribly corrupt and inept and so they removed him.
This propaganda clutter must be removed from their eyes so that by 2019, most former Southern Buharists would face the outrageous truth, that they removed the best President this country has ever had and replaced him with the worst ever.
Jonathan was certainly not as corrupt as those before him. The truth is that all Nigerian administrations, including Buhari have been enormously corrupt. So corruption is a given. Everybody did and does it, so in comparing Nigerian adminstrations, corruption must be taken as a constant.

But what about Jonathan 's achievements. They are simply staggering for a Nigerian President. The ex-Buharists have been so propagandised that when you show facts of these achevements they deny it.
Jonathan made Nigeria, Africa's biggest economy, first destination in Africa for foreign investrnent, third fastest growing economy in the world after China and South Korea. The ex-Buharists will say it's a lie or did it put food on the table. But now that we have a recession under Buhari they keep mute or mutter excuses.
You point out the trains GEJ developed they said those are outmoded, even though they later claimed it. You point out the 10 or more Federal universities he developed, they say they are not functioning even though they have graduated students. You point out the Almajiri schools they say where are they? You show them the airports he reconstructed, they look the other way.
You now look at the people oriented policies, the democratic credentials, the freedom of speech, the Youwin programme that bred so many young entrepreneurs and compare these things under Buhari or any previous President, you realise that the Jonathan slogan of a breath of fresh air was no lie.
Reforming Ex-Buharists are still trying to justify that it was right to vote out Jonathan. I call upon all wailers to start shifting focus. The depicting of the true demonic and imbecilic, clueless nature of Buhari has been thoroughly exposed.

Now that web of propaganda that trapped so many into believing that Jonathan was so bad he had to go, must be ruthlessly rooted out. They must face the full horror of the crime they committed against the Nigerian State - they removed the best President we have ever had and replaced him with the worst ever.
That is the only way we can ensure they do not repeat such a grievous mistake in 2019. They must learn to resist all propaganda, shine their eyes and pick the best out of whatever choices they throw at us.

LAGOS – President Muhammadu Buhari’s Independence Day broadcast elicited strong reactions from across the country, yesterday, with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, taking strong exceptions to the indictment of Igbo leaders over the escalation of agitation for Biafra. 
The President’s speech was, however, welcomed by the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, and some of the President’s political supporters, including Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
 However, critics from across the country, including Dr. Junaid Mohammed, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, Senator Roland Owie, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN; Mr. Akin Osuntokun, among others, flayed the speech for either being empty, sectional or lacking in imagination. 

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which was the object of criticism in the broadcast for allegedly superintending over what the President described as the years of the locust between 1999 and 2015, failed to articulate a reaction yesterday.

Warning against the sustenance of ethnic agitations, Buhari had in the broadcast said: “As a young army officer, I took part from the beginning to the end in our tragic civil war costing about 2m lives, resulting in fearful destruction and untold suffering. Those who are agitating for a re-run were not born by 1967 and have no idea of the horrendous consequences of the civil conflict which we went through,” he said.

Chiding leaders of the region involved, the President said: “I am very disappointed that responsible leaders of these communities do not warn their hot-headed youths what the country went through. Those who were there should tell those who were not there, the consequences of such folly.

” Buhari’s govt always has excuses — Ohanaeze 

Responding to the broadcast, Ohanaeze, responding through its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Uche Achi Okpaga, who described Buhari’s policies as sentimental, lopsided and sectional, advised the APC-led Federal Government to always take responsibility for the current situation in the country.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo said:  “The issue is that the Buhari administration has always found one excuse or the other for the challenges facing the country. They have never taken responsibility before (because) they were not prepared to rule Nigeria. 

“Hate speech started from Buhari and he has continued to implement policies against the existence of Ndigbo. The agitations did not come from oblivion; it is part of his policies which I describe as sentimental and lopsided. These policies had over time fuelled agitations and so, he should not blame Igbo leaders but his administration.

“We blame the agitation on his administration and not Igbo leaders.” ECA, in a statement said it was a regret that the President, helped by his kitchen cabinet, had continued to see Nigeria on  an ethnic prism.

ECA Secretary, Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko, while reacting to the speech said: “Mr. President has finally confirmed to all and sundry that he is light years behind global trends and far away from the political reality of the Nigerian situation. This is exactly what happens when a leader surrounds himself only with his kinsmen.
 “They erroneously mistake their sectional worldview as the national interest. Gen Buhari has clearly misread the resolve of the younger generation to change their lot in Nigeria through any means necessary.
“His kitchen cabinet is obviously living in an ancient world where the fear of the inevitable restructuring forced them to take solace inside the cocoon of an outdated, unrealistic northern daydream of forcing Nigerians to head to a National Assembly which was created by a discredited military constitution. “The obstinacy of those scared of the inevitable new people’s Constitution, regional autonomy, and true fiscal federalism gave birth to the agitation for secession; this same obstinacy will ultimately destroy Nigeria. “As the agitation rebounds and resurges, time will unveil the price we all will pay for delaying the return of Nigeria back to regional format.”

Buhari trying to push S-East out of Nigeria —
Ezeife Former governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife on his part said President Buhari was trying to push the region out of the Nigerian State. “Buhari is the engineer of the problems. He is trying to push the South-East out of Nigeria by marginalising, dehumanising and humiliating them,” he said, adding that the development led to the agitations by the youths that has now morphed into a national concern. “The young ones couldn’t understand what he was up to and so they reacted as young people. “We didn’t have these problems under President Olusegun Obasanjo,  Umaru Yar’Adua or Goodluck Jonathan but immediately Buhari took the oath of office and swore to protect the Constitution, he reneged on such things as the federal character.

“He told us he belongs to everybody and to nobody but we have seen that he belongs to Katsina,” he added. Buhari’s speech disappointing, says Ozekhome Rights activist and constitutional lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, flayed the speech as not good enough. 

Describing the speech as “disappointing” Ozekhome noted that President Buhari left the real issues for trivialities, wondering why the Commander-in-Chief failed to say a word on the threats issued against the Igbo by the Arewa youths. He told Vanguard that the President’s perceived hatred for the Igbo, again manifested in his national broadcast, saying his description of the nation under his stewardship is far from reality.

Nothing interesting from Buhari—Junaid Mohammed
 In his reaction, Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, said the speech lacked substance, adding that there was nothing interesting about it. He said: “I feel very sad that Nigerians have found themselves in this quagmire and it is very unfortunate. “Unfortunately, he surrounded himself with family members who have no experience about government. So what do you expect from such government? “I strongly believe Buhari cannot take this country to the promised land and for him to be telling us his experience as a junior officer in the military when the country needs urgent attention is unbecoming of a leader.”

He has opportunity to bring Nigeria back on track—Afenifere 
For the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, the President has the opportunity to bring Nigeria back on track by restructuring the country. Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, said: “The only way Nigeria will not disintegrate under him (Buhari) is for him to begin to lead the conversations around the need to restore Nigeria to better federalism as promised in the APC manifesto. “He still has the opportunity to bring Nigeria back on track. The call for restructuring is the call for a better Nigeria, the call for restructuring is to avoid a breakup.

” Nothing new, says Yakasai
 Yakasai on his part, dismissed the speech as empty on the claim that the President did not say anything new. “From my own understanding, President Buhari did not say anything new, and there is nothing new about the speech most especially if you are conversant with his style,’’ he said.

 He was rationalising failure —Osuntokun 
Mr. Akin Osuntokun, who served as Political Adviser in the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, said there was nothing remarkable about President Buhari’s broadcast. He said: “First I am happy for the President that he looks well-rested and apparently in good health. There is nothing particularly remarkable, negative or positive about the speech. “It was all about exaggerating modest achievements and rationalizing failure. You can see the escapist argument he was making on the seeming intractability of the Boko Haram insurgency.” 

No hope in the speech — Owie 
Former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Roland Owie, also faulted the speech saying: “I see no hope in that speech. It is unfortunate that Nigeria has found itself in this situation under a government that has no direction. The anniversary speech does not give hope to anybody. “He was elected to preside over the country, but he is not doing that. When I compare what happened in 1983 when he came first and when he came now, nothing has changed.

” Buhari’s speech is way to go — ACF 
The ACF, however, welcomed the President’s speech as soothing, saying it was the way to go. The ACF in an email reaction sent to Vanguard through its Publicity Secretary, Muhammadu Ibrahim Biu, said the speech was  “a score card of the Buhari administration on securing, economy and corruption which was the hallmark of his campaign promises. “ACF advocates peaceful and meaningful dialogue on all issues of national importance and the use of our democratic institutions to achieve better results. Agitations that come with threats and intimidation have no place in our present democratic dispensation. ACF would, therefore, support any restructuring that comes with clarity of purpose and is just, fair and equitable to all sections of the country,” he said. 

Buhari deserves applause — Oshiomhole
Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, while also praising the President’s speech said:  “I think the President’s speech made it clear about what is being expected and the progress made so far. The president has emphasized that the unity of this nation is non-negotiable and that is the stand of most of us. “That is sending a message to all those who are plotting one evil or the other against this nation. The President also emphasized plans to create more employment for our youths to check restiveness. So I see hope because if you look at where we are coming from you will know that we are on the right track with President Buhari as President. He deserves applause for this” he stated.
